What We Believe
We believe in the full inspiration and authority of the Bible. God inspired the writing of the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament so that the Bible is His only authoritative written revelation to mankind. The Bible is wholly true in all it affirms and wholly trustworthy in all its teachings. God’s Word is our sole authority for leading us in faith and guiding us in all dimensions of individual, family, and church life. (1 Corinthians 2:12-15; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
We believe in one God, eternally existing as three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—the Trinity. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2)
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, by having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Christ’s death by crucifixion was a substitutionary sacrifice whereby He paid the exact penalty for people’s sin to remove one’s guilt and reconcile people with their Creator God. After a forty day post-resurrection ministry He ascended into heaven where He sits in the place of honor at the right hand of God and intercedes for believers as our great High Priest and Head of the Church. He will return to earth again to establish His millennial kingdom. (Isaiah 53:5-6; Acts 1:3, 9; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Hebrews 4:14-15; Revelation 19:11-20:3)
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells, baptizes, and seals all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. All believers are given spiritual gifts by the Spirit to be used for the building up of the Body of Christ – the Church.
(1 Corinthians 12:11, 13; Ephesians 1:13)
Mankind’s Creation and Fall
We believe God created mankind (male & female) in His image, though this image has been damaged because, through Adam’s sin, people acquired a sin nature which separated them from God and brought them under the sentence of death.
(Genesis 1:25-27, -17; Romans 5:12)
We believe in salvation solely on the basis of grace through faith; that is, salvation is the gift of God offered to each person by grace and received by personal faith in the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 16:31)
